after listening to the cd, im kinda over it, dont know if it will grow on me or if ive just grown out of say anything.. they definitely didnt stick to their roots on this album, im not sure Max even knows how to anymore.. He's too sane, too rich, and too happy to produce another good album i guess:/

Not to mention that he calls out the Kings of Leon for writing songs about girls, when 95 % of the songs he writes are about girls.

That's what I've been saying, now that his life isn't f'd up he has nothing good to write about and nothing with which people can emotionally connect. I wonder how much the band likes being a Sherri tribute.

While I agree with not liking most of the new album, I'm not going to fault Max for writing about the stuff that's making him happy. I'm not going to expect a great, immediate transition when all the material is going to be focused differently. And if the band doesn't like the band, they should leave. But I don't really think that's the case. I'm interested to see where the band goes once they find their stride in their new situations, because it's pretty obvious that isn't the case yet. That said, their show I went to two weeks ago was the best I've ever seen them as live performers.

now i'm a fan of eisley so don't take this the wrong way, BUT... considering sherri's history with men, there could easily be a future SA album with just as much angst and heartache as before. someone had to say it...

yeah man i was waiting for someone to say it. I love that max is happy, i dont hate this album, but nothing will compare to the dark angst that filled IARB.

I don't mind if people are happy, I just like when writers actually write about real shit and not 4 songs about girls on 1 cd:/

I just like when writers actually write about real shit and not 4 songs about girls on 1 cd:/ Does that mean you don't like The Beatles? I do think that songs that are blatantly about relationship problems/successes can be trite but at the same time I think that heartbreak and love (or something like it) are some universal themes that EVERYONE can relate to - making them the most "real shit" out there. And when you're hurting a lot, it helps to hear a song to remind you that other people are miserable too & that it can pass, and when you're giddy and smitten, you just feel warm and fuzzy listening to a sweet song and thinking about that person. Or maybe that's just me. In all actuality, I haven't even bothered listening to the new album yet. Just saying.

Crush'd is one of the worst songs I have ever heard. I knew SA was in trouble when I heard that demo.

The thing is they fracking aced it as much as they were going to with songs like Alive With The Glory of Love and A Walk Through Hell. No real room for excuses.
