Here's a little rant about this tour that I've been meaning to say for a while. The act of number 1 is what lead me to blurt out number 2. Here we go. 1) I made a little wrap up of links to videos of songs that haven't been recorded and posted them so we could have a general idea of what to expect from the next record as a whole - tinyurl.com/feathersocks2) Can we just say out loud how fucking weird and wrong it was that Weatherbox toured with The Dangerous Summer and Ten Second Epic? I'm sure a lot of you saw them during this tour. I had to sit through the longest 6 songs of my life from TSE, where I got to experience too much finger wagging and the most ridiculous representation of Canadian pride I've experienced so far in this life. Luckily I was able to push up to the right corner of the stage afterward, so I could have Andy's big ol' bass sway in front of me while he did his thing. And oh how he did his thing. I looked around at the dull faces of the teenyboppers anxiously waiting in between songs in hope that their band would hurry up and get on stage. I knew what to expect so when Box finished up Trippin' I headed to the merch table then headed out. My main concern here is that Weatherbox went on a tour where they may have not been appreciated as much as they should have been and surrounded by the wrong crowd to share their music with. Sorry for the rant y'all. Feel free to tell me to get bent. I hear what you're saying and agree that it was weird, but for the most part I'm indifferent to who Box tours with. It's kind of awesome they toured with the dangerous vaginas and crushed all those teeny bopping fans. As long as Box isn't influenced by the BS, they deserve all the exposure they can get. I didn't get to see them on this tour cause they didnt come through texas, but I see them going on that tour as an in-your-face challenge to shallow minded TDS fans to think deeper and crush harder... by the way... did you draw the Follow the Rattle of the Afghan Guitar cover? if so, i fucking love it. captured the essence perfectly. raw. magical. exploratory.

lamebox question about the Afghan cover (and feel free not to answer this): did you use Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle cover as inspiration? -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CatsCradle%281963%29.jpg
I'm a huge Vonnegut/Box fan and randomly noticed the similarity. Once again, gotta say I love it. thanks

gdubb, you're actually the second person to ask that. I didn't, I don't really read so wouldn't have found the reference. I just went with what Brian told me the record was going to be about and some certain images he'd like included (a map, a compass, yada)

haha, i'm from texas too. currently stuck in odessa.
as for the cover of afghan... well, we all know brian is a vonnegut fan. maybe there's a relation to the concepts he mentioned to lamebox? what exactly did he ask you to have on there, lamebox? if you don't mind me asking.

airon, I remember the first thing he asked for was the tesseract. Then he had just mentioned maps and a compass. The detached arms was actually something I had been doing with a lot of characters I had been drawing at the time and when I put it in the rough draft he liked it. The other thing he was very specific about were the lines wrapped around the arms.

so how is everyone liking the current line up? i'm not sure if there's been a line up change since i last checked, but it should still be brian, george, marc, and andy. i'm not sure how long they're going to be around, but it's probably my favorite line up. they work well together, but i guess that's a given considering their history. does anyone know who was involved in writing ghost malls, the last white lighters, and dark all night?
