DP for great justice:
i just found out a single can of baked beans gives me half my GDA of protein. that is good news. just had some. they're tolerable, especially with toast.

I don't think just plain bread exists in European countries. It all just comes out toasted.

oh but it does. it's just so boring when it's not toasted. i mean i love a good sandwich but a toasted sandwich kicks regular sandwiches asses. also, and this i learned from home ec. in high school; toast is a good accompaniment to baked beans because the beans are an incomplete protein which lacks certain amino acids which the toast provides instead. it's science, kids

I used to have to cut Irish soda bread into slices...or mostly just crumbs as it doesn't like to be in slices.

eat a like of protein such as grilled chicken and fish and brown rice or whole wheat pasta eggwhites are great for gaining weight tooo
