Anybody here a fan of black metal? I'm generally not a fan but the new Deafheaven album is absolutely out of this world. I'd have to say it's like a combination of Explosions in the Sky and black metal. It has absurd moments of beauty contrasted with heavy, layered textures of guitar and more/less drowned vocals; also the drummer is a total freak. Highly recommend checking it out, even if metal isn't your cup of tea. It's worth giving a chance.
